it's somewhere in the nvidia control panel. in your case you'd force it to maintain its aspect ratio. if you have an nvidia graphics card you can specify what happens if an application doesn't run in the native resolution of the screen. I dont think you can run the game in a window, but pressing alt+enter may be worth a try. It seems like the current pinball industry is in a similar situation Stern has been the only company building actual new tables without any competition for a while, but then Jersey Jack Pinball came up with Wizard of Oz and now apparently even Pat Lawlor is joining them to create a new table with an original theme.Īnonymous Mon Jan 27 23:23:23 2014 No.1367667

The Pro Pinball team (based in UK) is probably even smaller, but their games focus on quality over quantity, which really shows in the long-term enjoyability. Their "huge efforts" are Kickstarters and they always complete the goals since they are the only one in the business doing IRL table vidya adaptations.īeing nice or friendly doesn't change the fact that their graphics and physics could be improved a lot.

I always run the game from empty desktop and my 16:10 screen displays 4:3 without fucking up aspect ratio, so my only advice would be to get a monitor that can display them correctly (you should already have one if you deal in /vr/, anyway). They have operator menus with all the things a real machine would have and the later games even have settings for table weariness and slope adjustments. They don't exist in physical realm, but they've been designed to be realistic. Is there any way to get the Pro Pinball games to run in a Window? The low resolution menus fuck with my other window placement, and the game stretches the 1600x1200 image to fill my 1920x1200 screen.Īnonymous Mon Jan 27 23:19:53 2014 No.1367659 I never saw that option in the Steam version. It's just a slight discount if you buy them in the packs, is all.Īnonymous Mon Jan 27 22:06:24 2014 No.1367527

I've played it on Android, Xbox 360 (the only one in hiatus though), and PS3, and on every one, you're free to just buy the individual tables you want. You can do that now, on every platform I've played it on. I think I would be more willing to spend $2.50 for the one or two tables I'm interested in.Īnonymous Mon Jan 27 22:03:53 2014 No.1367520

These guys are always very open and accommodating to fans on Facebook, etc, and are one of the nicest small game developers around.Īnonymous Mon Jan 27 21:48:24 2014 No.1367495 The table packs work out to roughly $2.50 per table, and while it seems expensive in a pack, where else are you getting a pure digital recreation of a real licensed pinball table for $2.50. Theyre a small company of maybe 20 or so people out of California who make a huge effort to buy each table they release, tear it apart and digitally rebuild it for game play. Timeshock does look pretty good, though, so I'll try it.Īnonymous Mon Jan 27 21:44:23 2014 No.1367484ĭude, stick with Pinball Arcade (Android or iOS platforms or maybe Steam is best, as they have the fastest releases of new tables as dlc) Just to be clear, though, the Pro Pinball tables are "fake", right? I'm more interested in emulating real arcade machines. The remake of Timeshock! is also coming out at some point, so you should be supporting it or be playing Visual Pinball emulations (like the Terminator 2 Chrome Edition VP >1367131) instead of TPA and their DLC madness.Īnonymous Mon Jan 27 21:07:22 2014 No.1367401

The games can be found on GOG, but their Timeshock uses a Dosbox configuration instead of the original Windows executable, so you're better off getting a torrent with all games and esential patches. You might want to start with Fantastic Journey since it is has the most advanced physics and the most simple gameplay.

The physics are light years ahead and the graphics aren't bad at all even though the series is fifteen years old. Try playng the Pro Pinball series instead. If you didn't know, The Pinball Arcade is a game that accurately simulates classic pinball tables. If anyone has any recommendations for specific tables or packs, that would be great. The table packs are pretty expensive, so I don't just want to dive in. I never even knew I liked pinball until I tried this. I would love to try out some other tables, but I don't know the first thing about pinball. Īnonymous Mon Jan 27 19:33:44 2014 No.1367239ĭoes anyone here play The Pinball Arcade? I tried out the free version, which lets you play Tales of the Arabian Nights, and it's amazing.
